For over 10,000 of our neighbors in Sussex, Warren and Pike counties, cardiovascular disease is a daily and in many cases a life-threatening health issue.

Right now, though, patients in our area with cardiovascular disease do not have a local resource for diagnosing it. To meet this ever-growing need, the Newton Memorial Hospital Foundation is raising funds to build the hospital's first Heart Center -- which will dramatically improve the lives of our neighbors with cardiovascular disease. It will give them a state-o-the-art resource thy can count on, close to home.

The Charles L. Tice Heart Center For Diagnostic Services Will Offer...

  • A new, 15,000 square foot, two-story facility, conveniently located at the hospital for easy patient access.

  • A cardiac catheterization lab -- the highest standard in detecting and diagnosing vascular/coronary heart disease. Newton Memorial already has cardiologists on staff skilled at this procedure -- they just need a facility to perform it in.

  • Plans and space for additional, future cardiac services, such as angioplasty technology to treat emergency heart attack patients.

Description: Heart surgery. Surgical team looks at X-ray monitors to follow the progress of the catheter they are inserting into the patient's blood vessels to reach the heart. This will allow them to treat coronary artery disease by reducing blockages in the arteries of the heart. Reduced blood supply to the heart causes the intense pain of angina pectoris and can cause heart attacks. Photographed at Christ Hospital, Cincinnati, OH, USA.

To Make the Heart Center Happen, We Need to Raise $3 Million!

In the last several years, the community, hospital and Foundation have partnered to invest more than $26 million to expand and improve healthcare facilities and services. The Charles L. Tice Heart Center is s $7.2 million project. To defray $3 million of these costs, we must reach out for your support.

Together, we can build a better hospital and a better community. CALL 973-579-8309.
